Ervaring
Na het behalen van mijn artsexamen (cum laude, Universiteit Leiden) ben ik opgeleid tot plastisch chirurg in het VU medisch Centrum in Amsterdam. Na mijn opleiding werkte ik zes jaar als staflid op de afdeling Plastische, Reconstructieve en Handchirurgie van het VU Medisch Centrum. In die tijd behaalde ik het examen van de European Board of Hand Surgery en specialiseerde ik mij verder in de richting van de hand- en polschirurgie. Ik maakte daar ook deel uit van het multidisciplinaire team voor de behandeling van huidkanker. Verder vervulde ik verschillende onderwijstaken.
Ik heb onderzoek gedaan naar de behandeling van enkele specifieke slijtagepatronen van het polsgewricht en artrose van de duimbasis. Een van die onderzoeken deed ik op het Biomechanics Laboratory van de Mayo Clinics in Rochester, USA. De afgelopen jaren bleef ik naast mijn werk in het Alrijne Ziekenhuis onderzoek doen en heeft dit geleid tot mijn promotie in februari 2025.
