L.M. (Lenka) Pereira Arias - Bouda

Na het behalen van mijn artsexamen in 1996 aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam heb ik een jaar gewerkt als arts-assistent op de afdeling Interne Geneeskunde van Spaarne Ziekenhuis in Heemstede en in Academisch Medisch Centrum (AMC) te Amsterdam. Hierop volgde een promotie-onderzoek op de afdeling Longziekten van het AMC in samenwerking met de afdeling Biomedisch Onderzoek van het Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen, met als doel het ontwikkelen van een eenvoudige diagnostische test voor tuberculose, gefocust op derdewereldlanden (1997-2002). Na mijn promotie-onderzoek ben ik opgeleid tot nucleair geneeskundige in het AMC. Sinds 2007 werk ik met veel plezier als nucleair geneeskundige in Alrijne Ziekenhuis. Als vakgroep zijn wij innovatief en lopen veelal voorop op het gebied van beeldvormende diagnostiek, bijvoorbeeld bij borstkanker. Daarnaast houd ik me graag bezig met wetenschappelijk onderzoek en met het opleiden van jonge collega’s. Sinds 2014 werk ik behalve in Alrijne Ziekenhuis ook in Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC).      

 

Aandachtsgebieden 

Beeldvormende diagnostiek bij borstkanker (Alrijne ziekenhuis), rol van bruin vet bij het tegengaan van suikerziekte en hart -en vaatziekten (wetenschappelijk, in LUMC), nucleair beeldvormend onderzoek bij hypofysetumoren (LUMC).
