dr. M.T.P. (Monica) Odenthal

Naast mijn studie geneeskunde heb ik ook bedrijfskunde gestudeerd. Na het behalen van mijn artsexamen (universiteit Leiden) en doctoraal bedrijfskunde (Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam) ben ik, na een periode van studie en onderzoek in de oogheelkunde, onder andere in de Verenigde Staten, opgeleid tot oogarts in het Academisch Medisch Centrum in Amsterdam. Aansluitend heb ik een fellowship van ruim een jaar doorlopen in het Oogziekenhuis Rotterdam. Hierna ben ik 5 jaar staflid geweest en hoofd van de unit Cornea en contactlenzen in het AMC te Amsterdam. Sinds het jaar 2000 ben ik met veel plezier werkzaam als oogarts in het Diaconessenhuis Leiden, inmiddels Alrijne ziekenhuis. Daarnaast heb ik enkele bestuurlijke functies vervuld voor het Nederlands Oogheelkundig Gezelschap, en de Stichting Pensioenfonds Medisch Specialisten, en heb ik enkele jaren gewerkt als refractiechirurg in de Focuskliniek bij het Oogziekenhuis Rotterdam.

Aandachtsgebieden

Cataractoperaties (inclusief torische en multifocale lenzen), hoornvliesafwijkingen, medische retina, oculoplastische chirurgie (ooglidcorrecties).
