dr. T.J. (Tjeerd) Römer

Na het behalen van mijn artsexamen aan de Rijksuniversiteit Leiden (RUL) heb ik gewerkt als Luitenant ter Zee–arts op Marine Vliegkamp Valkenburg waarna ik mijn promotie onderzoek heb verricht aan het LUMC, Erasmus MC, het Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston en de Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dit onderzoek betrof de bestudering van het dichtslibben van de kransslagaderen met behulp van een laser spectroscopische techniek: Raman spectroscopie. Na het behalen van de graad van Doctor aan de RUL heb ik mijn vooropleiding interne geneeskunde afgerond in het Haagse Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis en de vervolgopleiding cardiologie in het LUMC.Als algemeen cardioloog ben ik vanaf 2002 werkzaam in het Leidse Diaconessenhuis dat na de fusie met het Rijnland ziekenhuis nu Alrijne Ziekenhuis heet.
